I had a hard time figuring out what to write about tonight. Maybe it’s because my mind is on the potentially life-changing item I mentioned in this post… Prayers appreciated for some meetings tomorrow…
Finally, I landed on these verses:

[The righteous] will still bear fruit in old age,
they will stay fresh and green,
proclaiming, “The Lord is upright;
he is my Rock, and there is no wickedness in him. ” Psalm 92:14-15 NIV
It’s encouraging to think of Christians – righteous because of Jesus – still producing fruit in their “golden years.” Still growing spiritually. Still ministering to others. Still “fresh and green.”
I like that picture of what I can look forward to.
And it’s good to see that the spiritual growth that continues into old age leads the Christian to a closer walk with the Rock. I know God is upright.
But I think there’s a deeper knowing as we walk more closely with him and see more clearly our sin, which contrasts with His righteousness, yet highlights his deep grace and great mercy.

We’re much alike when it comes to this subject of hearing from God. I have a very healthy dose of skepticism when it comes to my personal experiences…I’ve experienced it first hand (hearing from him) so I know it happens…I am VERY guarded when other people tell me things of that nature and expect me to just buy in into their experience w/o reservation….Bearing fruit in old age, puts me in mind of our friend Helen..she’s 84 this year, body is completely shot, yet she still radiates the presence of Christ whenever we talk to her. thinking of you today.
